For a bit less than two years, Spectickles appeared in the Sunday comics pages of some U.S. newspapers. The format was larger and the artwork generally a little more expansive, and it was joy creating them. Unfortunately, the newspapers markets are struggling these days, and too few were willing to add Spectickles to their Sunday line-up. After some careful consideration, I decided to end Spectickles Sunday comics - the time involved in creating them wasn't worth the small return it was producing, from a business sense. I've been running these Sunday comics in a limited rotation every Sunday, but my sense is that everyone has seen these at least a couple of times. For those interested, I'll leave them in this Cartoon Blast archive for future viewing. My proposal then, is to run a variety of cartoons I've created in the past, usually in limited numbers, but cumulatively pretty substantial. These would include my earliest work, which I've bundled together and call "Pandemonium". Then, there's "Foggy Bottom", which I created with fellow combat vet David DiTullio. "Foggy Bottom" was getting interest from at least one syndicate and a major licensing agency, but time-wise, there was no way we could produce it daily. Then there's one of my favorites, "Wing and a Prayer" created in partnership with writer Ken Alley, an author with a substantial body of humor and church-related work. Again, we had some syndicate interest, but it was submitted at a time when I was still deploying overseas, making a contractual commitment impossible. There's also another of my earliest efforts, "Edgar and Earnest" from 2000 or 2001 featuring two aging men who provide commentary on the changing world from a park bench. I wouldn't mind reviving it someday. At any rate, below are examples of these cartoons - please comment and let me know what you think about making the switch, at least for a little while to keep things fresh around this two-bit gin joint. Pandemonium Foggy Bottom Edgar and Earnest

Edgar and Earnest would be fun, and you can't go wrong with Pandemonium

You make me laugh, you make me smile, sometimes you make me groan a little, but you're the bright spot in my Facebook feed morning, noon, and night.

Bill, as you are probably aware I am a big fan and love all the work you do. I would be happy to see any and all cartoons you have done over the years. You could do any combination that works out best for you because your fans, like me, would welcome any and all works done. They each have their own style and while I may like one or another better than the others I still like them all.

I like Pandemonium but whatever makes good business sense will continue to brighten our days (or daze)

It would seem that Pandemonium would be the most versatile and be less of a time drain while you are working on other things. But what do I know? I love them all.

Pandemonium or Edgar and Earnest - - I would think that you would have plenty of fodder nowadays for Edgar and Earnest. (Doesn't THAT sound like an old person's comment!?). I have to say that I have just recently discovered Spectickles, and I think it's the funniest thing on the planet! As long as I can get a daily dose of Spectickles, I'm happy! I believe that whatever you create will be clever, witty, and funny. By the way, do the man and woman in Spectickles have names? I know the boy and dog are Puddin and Booboo, but I haven't seen names for the others. I'm finding them to be part of my family!

Edgar and Earnest looks like fun. It reminds me of myself and a work colleague. We are referred to as Statler and Waldorf at work, e.g. the grumpy old men from The Muppets. Pandemonium is a solid second.

To me they are all good. I love your work and look forward to seeing each and every one you produce. I grew up near Ft.Benning and have had friends and family in every branch of the military. So I think Foggy Bottom would be great :)

Edgar and Earnest I like the best out of those 3. I like when there is dialog in the cartoon.

one of my favorite things to do in my free time is to watch cartoons. i would rather buy a ticket to see a cartoon at the cinema instead of watching a movie. every single time a new cartoon is released, i always make sure am one of the first people to get tickets to the best cinema in town to watch it. cartoons go along way back and ever since then i have always loved it. This content is no doubt very engaging. I am going to bookmark your blog and keep checking it weekly to read more contents like this. Open this link to reach my website and check out its contents.
